Giving Back: Chef Zane Participates in Taste of Wasatch
Executive Chef Zane Holmquist, a Utah native, is passionate about giving back to the community. For 13 years he has represented Stein Eriksen Lodge at various charity events locally and nationally. Most recently, Chef Zane and his team donated their time at the 14th Annual Taste of the Wasatch event at Solitude Resort. Steins along with more than 50 local restaurants, wineries, breweries, and food partners donated 100% of the labor and product to ensure the maximum impact of this event on combating hunger in Utah. Funds raised at the event support the Utah Food Bank, Utahans Against Hunger, and Ogden Weber Community Action Plan, Inc. A unique beneficiary of the event is the Utah Food Bank’s Kids Cafe program which provides 1,700 nutritious meals to children in after school programs and community center in the greater Salt Lake area.
“The opportunity for us as chefs to feed people that have a challenge in life is great, to take the money that we raise here and feed people across Utah is fantastic,” said Zane Holmquist, when interviewed ABC 4.
